Many of you know besides acting I’m also a poet and I’m excited to announce, Inspire Me: Perception is number ONE on Amazon under biographical fiction.
In INSPIRE ME: PERCEPTION, you will see poems that introduce you to the “Self” of Sonia Iris Lozada, and an invitation to explore your own “Self,” your own dreams and fascinations, your own regrets and hopes. In “Perception,” you will be introduced to the prodding of dreams in caressing breezes and the reverence of the day’s beginning.
Since we’ve been in a stay-at-home ordinance in Los Angeles and most parts of the United States having an acting career has taken a different course. The following are just a few of the changes I’ve experienced:
Reaching out to others in the industry just to check how they’re doing. In the past, if you asked it was assumed you wanted something in return and some actors did.
Self-taping for auditions.
The return of generals is great because of the opportunity of meeting and talking with casting directors, directors, and other actors, etc.
Thank you to all the frontline workers. We’d be lost without you. It’s a strange time we’re living in. I’m told I’m calm but there’s deep sorrow for those that are ill or have passed. May we treat each other well. Sending love and blessings Thank you.
Since the holidays I’ve been doing research for a film treatment I’m working on with a producer friend of mine. It’s based on a poem I wrote from FOLLOW: Akashic Dreaming Through Time. February we’ll start writing again. This is exciting and I’m looking forward to a great collaboration.
Happy to announce a YouTube channel for my acting is in the process of being developed. Looking to have it up and running by the end of November, early December. Looking forward to producing short vignettes covering anything and everything acting. It should be fun. Here’s a sample.
It’s been a while since I’ve signed in with anything acting. I’ve been working on a writing project for my book FOLLOW: Akashic Dreaming Through Time to develop it into a script. It’s very exciting and with a deadline of early next year to be complete. In the meantime, I’ve had auditions and I’ve traveled. Looking forward to more news on the acting front.
Take care, be blessed, practice gratitude and kindness. Until next time.
Summer is usually a slow time for auditions. The most you’ll see are commercials and some movies. Television shows start shooting in late July. I had the pleasure of audition for a nice role on a Showtime show. I’ll keep you posted if it becomes a booking. Fingers crossed for this or something better.
